Taken from "Choreographed Man Of War" 2001
"Now I am standing here alone
But I can run
Watch me run
I'm not happy to be here
I love no one in this world
Watch me run
I can run
So unhappy to be here
You are my world
Believe me baby
I'm question mark six degrees
Believe me baby
I can only see the truth
Stand by me
Hold my hand
Wake me up
I'm your man
We will walk
Undecided
Without hope
Without love
Without dreams
From above
Dope religion
And I'm waiting for you
I'm nobody to play with
I'm nobody to play with
Sit down, sit down
Sit down. sit down
I'm don't think I want to
We'll sing and dance
We'll act fly
In the ether
In the street
In our prisons
Where next we cry
Where everywhere is everywhere
And everyone is anyone
Look, been here
Lay down your head"
Possibly one of the longest Pollard compositions with a running time of over 7 minutes, which coming from the man of 1 minutes quality pop a bit of an epic. Starts with a solitary guitar chord then Bob comes in with a very R.E.M. sounding lyric. A very downbeat Pollard sings of being alone, having no-one to play with, No one to love whilst a voice that sounds like Hal from 2001 starts up adding to the forbidding and downbeat mood. The song then begins to loose itself in a repetitive drumbeat and increasing feedback whilst the voice continues with only half-decipherable words. Eventually the feeback fizzles out and we fully hear the voice and its a friend of Bob describing a cool chick he met but seems to have problems asking her out or something. Sad song.
