Men Who Create Fright

Taken from "Kid Marine" 2000

"There is a place
Always in the undertow
Begging at best
Hollow culture
When you exist
Are you observable?
When you resist
Are you approachable?
When you pretend
Are you unreadable?
The unspeakable must settle
On your spy frame mind
The reason you came here
Is the reason you flee
Always to the same place"

Bobs voice starts this song with echoes and backwards fades and a guitar comes onto the horizon. Then the song kicks in with the classic fuzzed up guitar, bass and drum sound of classic Pollard. We even have time for a small Solo. Good song.

What the Parrot Saw said...

Stone-cold gem on what might be favorite Bob album.

Very freakbeat with an inventive arrangement and killer playing and vocals. Great lyrics about alienation and striving to create a sense of self; right up there with "Non-Absorbing" A five star classic.
