Taken from "From A Compound Eye" 2006
"I CROSSED A MOMENT OF LOVE
TO ENGULF THE MOON THAT HIDES
I WANNA LINE SOMETHING UP
AND I LIKE THE WAY YOU SLIDE
THE RIGHT THING I ALONE DECIDE
FOR YOU AND I
FAST FORWARD TO FROM NOW ON
TO INSIST THE PRICE IS MINE
EXPOSE THE HEART OF IT ALL
WITH MINERS' LUNGS ON EITHER SIDE
THE RIGHT THING I ALONE DECIDE
FOR YOU AND I
CALL IT PRIDE
I AM HIGH
TOO SMALL IN A WAY
I'M HIGH
YOU CRY
AND I DIE
OH
MY, MY, MY"
This song builds from a muffled lo-fi track into a full blown Rock Epic! With a great riff. Its like some of the tracks on Suitcase where you get 2 different versions of the same song in succession. Good song.
bob in all his glory.......this song kills
ReplyDeleteA great song from one of his best albums.
ReplyDelete...where did the picture of him go?
He's Back!
ReplyDeleteawesome song. i think the intro might be a tad too long, but that's minor beefing.
ReplyDeleteps...as you can tell, i just discovered this site. nice work!
A grower. Interesting to hear how Tobias fleshes out a Suitcase-like demo with some trippy flourishes that wouldn't have been out of place on either of the TVT era GBV albums.
